INHALT: Im Juli 1936 putschte des Militär unter der Führung General Francos gegen die freigewählte spanische Republik. Große Teile des Landes fallen den Faschisten praktisch kampflos in die Hände. In dem Dörfchen "Santa Cruz de la Salceda" werden einige Tage später 9 Männer - allesamt "Rojos" (Rote) - mit Lastwägen der Guardia Civil und den Faschisten aus dem Nachbardorf abgeholt und kurz darauf in einem Pinienwald ermordet und verscharrt.

Im Oktober 2003 findet in diesem Pinienwald die Exhumierung eines der Massengräber statt. Wer waren die Opfer, wer die Täter, warum wurden die Toten erst jetzt exhumiert? Am Beispiel des kleinen Dorfes entsteht ein Sittenbild des faschistischen Terrors, wie er in ganz Spanien auch weit über den Tod Francos 1975 hinaus auf der Tagesordnung war.

SUMMARY:

In July 1936 the army under the command of General Franco revolted against the freely elected Spanish Republic. Large parts of the country fell into the hands of the fascists almost without fights. In the small village of "Santa Cruz de la Salceda" some days later nine men, all of them "Rojos" (reds), are taken away on trucks of the Guardia Civil and the fascists from the neighboring village and shortly thereafter murdered and buried hastily in a nearby pine forest.

In October 2003 the exhumation of one of the mass graves takes places in this pine forest. Who were the victims, who were the culprits, why were the deads exhumated only now? Using the example of this small village a genre picture of fascist terror emerges, being part of everyday life in Spain far beyond the death of Franco in 1975.
